Watertown Fire Department battles blaze

Firefighters in the City of Watertown battled an early afternoon fire on West Broadway Avenue. Fire crews were called to 329 West Broadway Avenue to a report of a possible shed fire. Upon arrival, a working fire was confirmed in a single stall wood-framed carport with a residential exposure only 20 feet away. There was a vehicle in the carport as heavy fire was going throughout the structure. Crews did make quick work of knocking down the fire. According to authorities, there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, but the cause of the fire is under investigation. The Watertown Fire Department was assisted by the Watertown Police Department, Guilfoyle Ambulance Service and City Codes Department.
