Teddy Bears Are Now Helping Utica Firefighters Comfort Kids

VIDEO: Teddy bears have been delivered to Utica Fire Department Station 7.

The bears were collected as part of Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon’s winter accessories and food drive over the past several weeks and by Kada’s Promise, a national non-profit.

A representative from Kada’s Promise was present for the presentation to the fire department.

The bears will be used on pediatric EMS calls.

Emily Spatto, a junior from Remsen High School, serves as the New York ambassador for Kada’s Promise.

The organization donated about 100 teddy bears and has collected over 4,000 this holiday season for distribution across the State.

The Utica Fire Department will use all of these bears on calls involving children.
