No one hurt in Watertown apartment building fire

VIDEO: Firefighters battled a blaze in the city of Watertown overnight Tuesday. The fire broke out at 235 N Rutland Street in the city of Watertown at 9:31 PM. When fire crews arrived on scene, they saw heavy fire in a rear stairwell entrance to an upstairs apartment. The fire then spread to the attic of the building and an upstairs apartment. Because of the difficulty accessing the attic spaces, fire crews were forced to fight the fire in a defensive manner. The apartment building sustained major damage, and neighboring homes had heat damage to the siding. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Watertown Fire Department Investigators.
