Milton first responder invents lifesaving snow rescue vehicle

VIDEO: Three years ago, a massive snow storm in Buffalo claimed the lives of forty-seven people when first responders couldnโ€™t reach them. One local man is now turning that tragedy, into change.

โ€œEvery obstacle is an opportunity, and this obstacle that weโ€™ve met for so many years, where weโ€™ve lost so many innocent lives, led to, unfortunately, an opportunity where we can make a change in the future,โ€ said inventor Dan Tuller.

Tuller is a former safety officer and volunteer firefighter from Milton. He said his experiences as a first responder contributed to his innovation.

โ€œIโ€™ve been a volunteer firefighter for many, many years and I can tell you that when it comes to rescue resources, thereโ€™s no resource thatโ€™s off the table,โ€ Tuller added.

โ€œFor a volunteer rescuer, we have done heavy lift assists where weโ€™ve had to cut a wall away just to get someone out of the house. Obviously the house is no good, but itโ€™s about getting this person out and getting them the care that they need. It boils back down to the fact that there is no price on a life. There just isnโ€™t. And so we as a community and as a society, we canโ€™t give up on each other.โ€
