Groundbreaking held for new Montgomery County EMS facility

VIDEO: A groundbreaking was held on Monday for a new EMS facility in Montgomery County. Sheriff Jeffery Smith said the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division Facility will improve emergency response times and strengthen public safety across the county. The project received $1.575 million in federal funding. โ€œThis is more than a new building and a fancy facility,โ€ Rep. Elise Stefanik said. โ€œItโ€™s about investing in the security and strength in our upstate communities. Itโ€™s about making sure when that emergency occurs, our community EMS team, they are ready to respond, they have the resources to do so, and they can do so with speed and the best tools and resources available.โ€ The sheriff expressed hope that the facility will be completed by summer 2026.
