The memorial services for West Colesville Fire Chief James Sitek have been announced. Chief Sitek died in the line of duty on Saturday morning while responding to a fire in Conklin. While responding, Fire Chief James Sitek of the West Colesville Fire Company suffered a medical emergency and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday with calling hours at the DeMunn Funeral Home at 36 Conklin Ave. in Binghamton. Calling hours will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The county said parking is limited and a shuttle is running via BC Transit from Benjamin Franklin School at 262 Conklin Avenue. The public is asked to carpool if possible. The Broome County Office of Emergency Services asked that fire apparatus are held on Wednesday due to limited space. On Thursday, funeral services will be at St. Maryโs Catholic Church at 975 Route 11 in Kirkwood at 11 a.m.
