VIDEO: The funeral for New York State Department of Transportation supervisor and Hoosick Falls Fire Chief Robert Bornt will be held on Saturday, according to his obituary. Calling hours will take place at the town of Hoosick Armory, followed by the Firemen’s Last Call Service and reception at the Hoosick Falls Fire Station. Bornt, who was originally from Hoosick Falls, died on Friday after being struck by a car in Pittstown on Thursday. He was 54 years old. In addition to his service at the NYSDOT and the Hoosick Falls Fire Department, Bornt was also a member of the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad, a softball coach and the regional union president of the CSEA, the obituary said. He was also a “proud grandpa” and enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling.
