Fire departments join forces to support fallen Watertown firefighter fund

Fire departments from around the country are coming together to help benefit a foundation dedicated to a fallen firefighter. Three Mile Bay Fire Department is selling raffle tickets for two brotherhood quilts to benefit the Peyton Morse Foundation. Morse died in March of 2021 after suffering a medical emergency while training at the New York State Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls. He was training to become a full-time member of the Watertown City Fire Department. The foundation honors Morse’s love for his community, the fire service and his belief in the equality and fair treatment for all according to the Northern New York Community Foundation. The quilt is comprised of T-shirts that were donated from a number of fire departments from around the United States. One quilt is made from shirts of fire companies in and around the Northern New York area while the other is made up from various departments around the country.
