Departments respond to house fire in Bath

Crews from numerous departments were sent to a home in Bath on Monday after reports of an early morning structure fire. Around 4:26 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, fire crews responded to the report of a fence on fire at a home on Liberty Street. When Bath Fire Chief Mike Fiordo arrived at the scene, the fire had spread to a van and the back of the house. Trucks arrived at the scene soon after, with crews tackling the flames and preventing the fire from spreading to the front of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation; no injuries were reported. Crews remained on the scene for a while and returned to service around 8:28 a.m. The Bath Fire Department was assisted by the Hammondsport Fire Department, the Kanona Fire Department, the Painted Post Fire Department, Bath Ambulance, Steuben County Emergency Services, and the Steuben County Fire Investigation Team.
