VIDEO: Around 6:47 Thursday night, the South Glens Falls Fire Company was dispatched to a reported structure fire, with reports of smoke and fire coming from the house. Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working house fire and requested mutual aid with a tanker and tower. According to the fire company, assistant chief Logan Marino urged crews to tackle the fire aggressively, with crews inside and outside. Despite efforts of the inside crew, the fire conditions changed, resulting in the inside crew being pulled out as the roof collapsed. Shortly after, the Saratoga County Cause and Origin team began to investigate. According to the fire company, there were no injuries reported.
As of Friday morning, the investigation remains open and ongoing. All crews were back in service around 9:16 p.m. The South Glens Falls Fire Company was assisted by the Greenfield Fire District, Gansevoort Volunteer, Wilton Fire, Fort Edward Fire and West Glens Falls Volunteer. The auxiliary and the Moreau Emergency Squad were also on scene.
