An unconscious person was quickly removed from an apartment fire that firefighters responded to around 12:20 p.m. Sunday, an Albuquerque Fire Rescue news release said. AFR personnel went to the two-story building at 444 Florida St. SE, where they saw smoke coming from a second-floor apartment. A medic assigned to search the apartment found a person who had passed out. Once they were taken out, the person received medical treatment and was taken to the hospital.
The fire was under control within nine minutes and caused heavy damage to the apartment. Two downstairs apartments received water damage. AFR investigators were at the scene, but the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
