One person is dead and two people were rescued and taken to the hospital following a fire at the Santa Barbara Apartments in northeast Albuquerque. According to Albuquerque Fire Rescue, firefighters arrived to the scene and found an apartment with smoke and flames showing.
Fire officials say firefighters on scene received reports of people trapped inside after other residents of the complex had evacuated. Firefighters rescued two people from the apartment building. They were transported to the hospital for treatment. The fire department says eight people were displaced and one apartment was significantly affected. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
