Bernalillo County is inviting the public to attend a free Overdose Recognition and Response Training Session that will be hosted by the Behavioral Health Education and Awareness Council on Wednesday, September 24. The forum will serve the purpose of informing the public about opioid overdoses, as overdose deaths remain a pressing concern in our community.
The forum will also help participants recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, promote non-judgmental, compassionate responses to those who use substances, and teach attendees how to administer Naloxone (Narcan) to reverse overdoses. The event is part of BHEAC’s mission to expand community education and awareness around housing, homelessness, recovery, and behavioral health. Free Naloxone kits will be available to all participants who complete the training.
