Mayor Christopher DiPiazza and the Borough Council have announced a change to the Borough’s Rescue Squad.
Taking effect December 1, the Squad’s title will be scratched from the Borough Code.
DiPiazza and his team of council members approved an ordinance combining the Fire Department and Rescue Squad into one organization.
The Squad consists of volunteer first responders, including paramedics, EMTs and firefighters.
The crew of civil servants will continue with normal operations, but under the name of the Fire Department.
Now to become one, the Department continues to grow with the use of high-quality equipment and emergency training for any situation.
