Legislative Delegation Delivers $1 Million for New Truck for Hamilton Fire Department

PHOTOS: The Hamilton Fire Division is set to receive $1 million to purchase a new fire truck, thanks to the support of the 14th district legislators. The funding was officially announced during a ceremony at the East State Street firehouse on Thursday, where lawmakers joined firefighters to celebrate the investment. The ceremony began with opening remarks from Hamilton’s Mayor Jeff Martin, who then introduced Fire Chief Steven Kraemer. Senator Linda Greenstein, Assemblyman Wayne Deangelo and Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, all took turns expressing their joy in being able to bring the funding into the district. โ€œIn the few years this fire division has been consolidated, it has handled some massive fires and difficult fires,โ€ said Martin. โ€œWe need to maintain our fleet the best we can to ensure when a call comes in, thereโ€™s a truck that can get out to whoever needs it.โ€
