Hamilton Township Battalion Chief Finds Tasty Way to Serve the Community Through Food Truck

PHOTOS: When he isnโ€™t fighting fires, Hamilton Township Fire Department Battalion Chief Tim Sharpley can be found responding to a different kind of โ€œemergencyโ€ โ€“ snack attacks.ย As the proprietor of Yooo Cuz, a food truck familiar to many local residents for their delicious food and frequent appearances at local events, he is ready to feed the crowds. Sharpley started his career with the Hamilton Fire Department in 2001, and by 2020, he was starting to think about eventual plans for retirement, coming up with the idea of a food truck. When he first bought the truck, he admitted, โ€œmost people thought (he) was crazy to be doing this during COVID with all the extra challenges.โ€ The name of the business comes from when Sharpley was first on the job as a firefighter.ย โ€œI got hired on to the fire department, and in the firehouse, everyone has a nickname. They found out I was fromย Chambersburg, and then that’s when they started calling me โ€˜Yo Cuzโ€™,โ€ he reminisced.
