VIDEO/PHOTO: Epsom and area firefighters battled a building fire on Dover Road on Friday night. Just after 9 p.m., Capital Region Fire dispatch began receiving calls about smoke in the Eames Insurance Services building at 1578 Dover Road. Along with Epsom firefighters, Pittsfield, Pembroke, Allenstown, and Chichester sent engines. Police arrived first, confirmed โheavy smokeโ coming from the building, and activated alarms. About two minutes later, Concordโs Tower 1 was sent to Epsom. Police told county dispatch there was one man still in the building, and they were trying to get him out. The man was reportedly suffering from smoke inhalation at the scene. Chichester firefighters were also retoned to the scene while Concord EMTs were requested to assist.
Just after 9:15 p.m., firefighters from Northwood and tankers from Loudon and Pittsfield were requested. A second alarm was struck just before 9:30 p.m., sending more firefighters, including Bow, Concord, Deerfield, Loudon, and Pembroke. Unitil was also requested to the scene. A third alarm was struck, sending firefighters from Barnstead, Boscawen, Nottingham, Strafford, and Chichester EMTs to the scene around 9:45 p.m. The state fire marshal was also asked to come to the scene. Just after 10 p.m., dispatch said the bulk of the fire had been knocked down.
