Unattended controlled burn sparks small fire in Reno

VIDEO/PHOTOS: On Tuesday afternoon, a small brush fire ignited on a property along Holcomb Ranch Lane, according to Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, in an online X post. The fire was caused by a controlled burn that had been left unattended and eventually escaped containment. Fire crews responded and extinguished the fire to prevent further spread. TMFR says the resident responsible will be cited. Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue reminded the public of the importance of fully extinguishing all pile burns and never leaving them unsupervised.
