VIDEO/PHOTOS: Attendees of Hot August Nights Virginia Street cruise probably weren’t expecting to see fire engines in the lineup. Just before 8:00 p.m. tonight, the Reno Fire Department (RFD) received a call reporting smoke coming from a room at the Siegel Suites in downtown Reno. Virginia Street was closed down to traffic due to the Hot August Nights cruise, but to access the reported building RFD needed to travel on the street – almost appearing to join the cruise as they did so. RFD quickly determined the cause of the smoke was food burning on a stove – no active fire was ever found.
