Reno Fire Department renumbering stations after adding airport to coverage area

PHOTOS: The Reno Fire Department is renumbering its stations after recently adding Reno-Tahoe International Airport to its service coverage, according to an agency Facebook post. โ€œSo weโ€™re now providing service to the airport and the entire city of Reno,โ€ said Reno Fire Dept. Chief Dave Cochran. โ€œThis is a great model for what a consolidated department can look like. Weโ€™re operating under the same umbrella, the same dispatch, same system so the responses are seamless.โ€

All employees of the airport fire department now work for the Reno Fire Department, Cochran said. The stations will be renumbered from 1 through 15. โ€œSo theyโ€™re now all Reno firefighters and the airport station will become out 15th station,โ€ Cochran said. Cochran called the changes really progressive with great community benefits. โ€œWeโ€™re very proud of the exceptional service we provide from our 15 stations throughout the city of Reno,โ€ Cochran said. โ€œWeโ€™d like to thank all of you for your support and we look forward to continuing to provide that support back to you.โ€
