Reno fire crews battle blaze on Beldon Way; no injuries reported

A Reno home was rendered uninhabitable after a structure fire on Beldon Way. Authorities believe a downed power line in the backyard ignited the blaze. Fire crews responded to the scene on Beldon Way shortly after the alarm was raised. While no injuries to residents or firefighters were reported, the fire caused significant damage, leaving one home uninhabitable.

The exact cause of the downed power line is still under investigation, but initial assessments point to it as the origin of the fire, which appears to have started in the backyard before spreading to the residence. One family pet remains unaccounted for following the incident. Efforts to locate the pet are ongoing. The Reno Fire Department reminds residents to report downed power lines immediately and to maintain a safe distance.
