No threat to public after radioactive-labeled device found by landscapers in Reno

Authorities say there is no threat to the public after landscapers found a radioactive-labeled device on South Meadows Parkway Tuesday morning. Landscapers found a yellow crate with a radioactive symbol on it on Oct. 28. When the Reno Fire Department (RFD) arrived at the scene they determined it was a soil density testing device. Authorities say there is a small radioactive element in these devices, hence the label, but the device was intact and there was no threat to the public. The device has been taken away and area is clear.
