The Marie Fire is fully contained, according to a June 12 Bureau of Land Management news release. The fire will remain staffed until it is fully controlled. A fire is contained when control lines are completely around it, and itโs no longer expected to spread. At this point, hot spots may still exist inside the perimeter. A fire is controlled when hot spots are out, and the fire is no longer a threat under any condition. Suppression repair including the restoration of dozer lines and handlines is underway. Because hazards remain, the public is asked to avoid the area.
