Las Vegas police release videos from triple-deadly 12-car wreck

VIDEOS: Metro police released videos Friday of officers responding to a 12-car crash that left three people dead. The department released the videos with redactions after a records request from 8 News Now and other media outlets. They show first responders and bystanders attending to multiple victims in the minutes after the crash.

Jose Gutierrez, 19, is accused of intentionally accelerating toward a line of stopped cars at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Gutierrezโ€™s girlfriend, Adilene Duran Rincon, 20, was killed in the crash, along with Edward Garcia, 38; and Vanessa Vasquez, 25. Police suspect Gutierrez crashed into the line of cars in an attempt to kill Duran Rincon. Documents the 8 News Now Investigators obtained after the crash showed Gutierrez was speeding at 71 mph โ€œin a nearly straight lineโ€ toward the red light at the time of the first impact, police said. Data from the car showed he accelerated rapidly from 9 mph within five seconds.
