Forward progress has stopped on the Whammy Fire off Estates Road east of Lemmon Valley in Washoe County, according to an Incident Command report on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Some resources have been released from the scene, the report said. Firefighters were on site of the blaze that started about 1 p.m. The blaze is smoldering and fire behavior is confined to .15 acres and a tree. There is light to medium ground fuels adjacent to the fire. In the vicinity, there are two to three small spot fires, according to Incident Command. Earlier, structures were threatened, Incident Command said.
