Fire in Reno apartment complex displaces five

A fire that broke out Monday afternoon at a Reno apartment complex led to the rescue of three residents and the displacement of five others. Reno Fire Department personnel responded to the blaze at 2:13 p.m. A total of 43 firefighters, including seven engines, two trucks, and two battalion chiefs, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters successfully rescued three victims from the building.

Two adults were transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, though no serious injuries were reported. The fire was contained to the room where it originated, but it caused damage to two apartments in total. Five adults were displaced as a result. The apartment complex manager is working to re-house the residents in other units on-site, and the displaced individuals have also been connected with the Red Cross for additional assistance.
