PHOTOS: A fire broke out in a commercial building in the industrial area south of Downtown Las Vegas Thursday morning. The fire was reported just before 7:10 a.m. in the 1800 block of Industrial Road, north of Sahara Avenue, per Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesperson Jordan Moore.
The first unit arrived at 7:17 a.m. and found the fire spread from the outside near the train tracks to the building, leading to more resources being deployed. Crews started with an offensive strategy and an all-clear was given at 7:43 a.m., according to Moore. Flames had spread to the attic, despite the building having a sprinkler system. No injuries were reported. Trains were cleared to resume running by 9:08 a.m. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
