Firefighters successfully contained a quarter-acre brush fire on the 5200 block of Carol Drive in Sun Valley around 9 a.m. on Sunday. According to the Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue, no structures or property were lost in the incident. Crews remained on the scene to conduct mop-up operations. No injuries have been reported, and the probable cause of the fire is believed to be an escaped cooking fire.
