Lincoln apartment fire under investigation, officials suspect arson

A fire that started inside a Lincoln apartment complex Tuesday morning is now being investigated as a possible arson. Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to Parkview Apartments at 11th Street and Cornhusker Highway shortly before 9:10 a.m. for flames in the second floor hallway.

The second floor was partially evacuated while crews worked on the fire. It will reopen once LFR finishes investigating. The first and third floors were not damaged. No one was injured. Details are still preliminary, but Battalion Chief Jim Bopp believes the fire is suspicious as accelerant appeared to have been used. The fire is being investigated as an arson.
