Wisconsin fire department upholds a creative tradition

VIDEO: Firefighters are known for putting out the flames and saving lives of course, but in Wisconsin, one fire department is showing off their creative side. The population in Eagle River, Wisconsin, is only 1,600, so there can be some down time when you are waiting for an emergency call. Firefighters there are putting that time to good use much to the delight of those in town. This has been a tradition here in Eagle River that goes all the way back to the 1930s. Every year- when the weather cooperates- the local fire department creates an ice castle. The fire chief says it’s the first time it’s been cold enough since 2022, so that they could build it.
