VIDEOS: Students evacuated after Tennessee school bus bursts into flames

PHOTOS: Students were safely evacuated off a school bus that went up in flames Wednesday afternoon in Dickson County, officials said. According to a spokesperson for the school district, Bus 5 caught fire at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3. A News 2 viewer, who identified herself as a parent, sent photos after the fire and credited the bus driver for making sure the students got off safely.

“My son remembered my phone number,” Meghan Griggs said. “He knew to call me. I didn’t answer the first time, and he kept calling me.” “Luckily, I am down the road, so it didn’t take me long to get there,” Griggs continued. “My son handled it very well. He was calm, so I didn’t worry as much.” Dickson County EMA Director Rob Fisher told News 2 no injuries were reported, but the bus is a total loss.
