Central Iowa fire crews battled a large blaze involving several houseboats in the Saylorville Marina on Wednesday evening. The fire sparked again Thursday morning, sending crews back out to the marina to fight the flames. A KCCI crew was out at the scene to report on the fire and witnessed the flames restart around 6:10 a.m. KCCI’s Olivia Tyler called the fire department, which responded to the scene and put out the new flames in less than an hour. The previous evening, the Polk City Fire Department received the call around 6 p.m. When Polk City Fire Chief Karla Hogrefe arrived on scene, there were three houseboats on fire and the flames quickly spread.
