PHOTOS: Utica Firefighters were on the scene of a massive house fire on Whitesboro Street Tuesday evening. Crews arrived at 1137 Whitesboro Street just before 7:00 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the two story home. Flames could be seen from atop Smith Hill in Deerfield at the NEWSChannel 2 studios. Utica Fire Chief Scott Ingersoll tells NEWSChannel 2 there were initial conflicting reports that someone was trapped inside. He said firefighters searched the first floor, but were pulled out after 10 minutes for fear of building collapse. All of the people living there have been accounted for and are safe. Five adults and three children are being helped by the Red Cross.
