VIDEO: Firefighter near miss as wall collapses during Pennsylvania fire

Fire destroyed a barn in Berks County on Monday morning. It was reported just before 8 a.m. on Baldy Road in Maxatawny Township, state police said. Responding firefighters found the two-story barn completely engulfed in fire. The farmer had been able to rescue all farm animals from the barn before firefighters arrived on scene. Crews struck two alarms for additional manpower to the scene, and firefighters from multiple fire companies in eastern Berks County and western Lehigh County responded. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 45 minutes. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with heat-related injuries, police said. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.  No other injuries were reported.
