South Carolina fire rescue gets lifesaving rescue packs for all stations

VIDEO: Horry County Fire Rescue recently purchased equipment to help improve safety for firefighters. It cost roughly $260,000 for the 34 new Rapid Intervention Team, or RIT, packs. HCFR now has them at all 40 stations. The RIT packs help first responders better protect each other during โ€œmaydayโ€ situations. Each pack has an air cylinder with the connections required to give air to an injured or incapacitated firefighter. The packs also have wire cutters and webbing to help firefighters free each other from obstructions.
