VIDEO/PHOTOS: Itโs been more than two weeks since Kansas City firefighter-paramedic Graham Hoffman lost his life in the line of duty. Since then, there have been waves of support from the community.
Perhaps the biggest is the Graham Hoffman Memorial Shirt fundraiser, put on by E2 Embroidery and Screen-Printing, which raised over $381,500 for the Hoffman family. What started off as a small initiative in Kansas City grew far beyond what the company could have imagined. Orders came flooding in from all 50 states, 14 countries and numerous U.S. military bases.
On Wednesday, production to get those shirts printed started, as they worked all day in a toasty print shop to fulfill orders locally and internationally. โWeโre no stranger to that, weโve done that in the past for other families too, for tragedies, so we were all in, whatever they wanted,โ said Joe Eddings, co-owner and retired firefighter.
Over 36,000 navy-blue shirts were put on the press, being hand-printed one by one to honor Graham Hoffman. The firefighter-paramedic died the morning of April 27 when he was fatally stabbed by a patient he was transporting to the hospital, law enforcement stated.
