Couple donates $100K to volunteer fire department in North Dakota

VIDEO: A simple reason with a deep meaning – thatโ€™s the idea behind a Pierce County coupleโ€™s $100,000 donation to the Rugby Fire Department. Jim and Gerd Tuchscherer have a farm just 16 miles southwest of Rugby. They said theyโ€™ve had to call the fire department a couple of times in the last few years. Firefighters were called to a hay bale fire from a lightning strike as well as a straw bale fire that got out of control. But each time, the couple said the Rugby firefighters responded with passion and kindness. โ€œThey were prompt, courteous, very professional. They make sure youโ€™re well and safe. Then, they go back and do what they do back to their civilian jobs,โ€ said Jim.
