Arkansas fire department shares harrowing story after crash sends two to the hospital

PHOTOS: A local fire department is raising awareness about road safety after a bystander and first responder were hospitalized on Tuesday. The fire department for Gallatin, a neighborhood in Benton County, posted on Facebook that crews were responding to a jackknifed tractor trailer on Highway 412 when a vehicle entered the crash scene and struck a command vehicle and an Arkansas Highway Patrol vehicle. The post from Gallatin Fire Department (GFD) said that a bystander and law enforcement officer were taken to nearby hospitals and treated for their injuries. GFD said that no department personnel were injured, but they plead with the public to “slow down and move over.”
