VIDEOS: The Arizona Department of Transportation announced Interstate 10 has reopened in both directions following a school bus crash Tuesday, April 1. Four people suffered serious injuries in the two-vehicle crash involving a school bus near Tangerine Road. Arizona DPS said a small SUV and bus from the Kingman Unified School District were involved in the accident around 1:40 p.m. and that the bus ended up on its side.
Goran Mitic told 13 News he was headed back up to Phoenix when he saw the traffic slow and dust go up everywhere, just about 100 feet ahead of him. He said that was when he pulled over and got out. He and others immediately started to help the victims out of the bus. Mitic explained many of the students were in shock – others he said, were still trapped in the bus. He said he called 911 and offered his phone to students to call their parents. The driver of the SUV, a man, was arrested but the charges have not been released.
