5 injured after lithium powder fire breaks out at aerospace facility in Florida

VIDEOS: Five people were injured Thursday morning in Orlando after lithium powder caused a fire to break out at an L3Harris aerospace facility, fire officials announced. According to Orlando Fire Chief Charlie Salazar, the call to the 7600 block of Municipal Drive came in around 8:20 a.m. and prompted several Orlando Fire Department crews to respond, including hazmat, arson and bomb crews. The fire broke out inside Aerojet Rocketdyne, a company that designs and produces sophisticated ballistic missile targets and undersea propulsion technology. Assistant Orlando Fire Chief Walter Lewis said the response to the fire was large because of its severity.
