VIDEO: Three firefighters were severely burned Tuesday morning after they became trapped while battling a two-alarm apartment fire in southeast Houston, officials confirmed. Fire officials said the three injured firefighters were from Station 46. They were identified as Capt. Edward Escamilla and firefighters Darren Jones and Jonathan Guzman. The fire broke out just before 5:30 a.m. at an apartment complex near Jarmese Street and Coffee Street. The firefighters suffered second and third-degree burns to their hands, legs and neck. All three were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment where they were awake and alert at last check.
