The Sun Ray Fire around five miles to the west of Lolo has been contained, according to fire managers. NBC Montana shared the news of the fire on Sunday after it was reported by Lolo National Forest. At around 7:10 PM, they reported that the fire had stopped pushing forward, which aided in containment efforts by Montana DNRC, the Missoula Ranger District, and local firefighters. There were no evacuations or closure due to the Sun Ray Fire, but traffic on Highway 12 near the flames was controlled for a short period of time. The final measurement of the fire was 29.5 acres after firefighters completely surrounded the blaze. Mop-up efforts continued to eliminate any remaining heat.
