VIDEO: The Missoula County Office of Emergency Management, along with local first responders and hospitals, partnered to locally launch PulsePoint, a mobile app designed to facilitate life-saving care in our community. The effort comes as this week is National CPR and AED Awareness Week. PulsePoint alerts trained individuals of the nearby need for CPR so they can help. The app also informs users of the nearest publicly available Automated External Defibrillators.
Partnership with PulsePoint is part of a larger initiative to increase the number of CPR-trained individuals, with a goal to train 20,000 residents in Missoula County by 2026. A $60,000 federal grant is funding this initiative. Agencies currently using PulsePoint include: Missoula Fire Department, Missoula Rural Fire, Frenchtown Rural Fire, East Missoula Rural Fire, Florence Fire and EMS and Condon-Swan Valley Fire Department.
