Helena Fire Department warns of lithium-ion battery dangers

VIDEO: The Helena Fire Department is urging residents to be aware of the risks associated with lithium-ion batteries. These rechargeable batteries, commonly found in devices like iPhones, laptops, e-bikes and electric vehicles, can overheat and catch fire, sometimes even exploding. Experts recommend charging lithium battery devices on hard surfaces and not on beds, couches or under pillows. Additionally, residents are advised to recycle batteries at designated recycling locations rather than disposing of them in trash cans.
