From emergency runs to final exams: the double life of a Montana Tech student

A Montana Tech senior who has spent his nights responding to emergencies as an EMT with A1 Ambulance will cross the stage on Dec. 13 after balancing full-time ambulance shifts, paramedic school and a 28-credit semester.

Trey Whitlock, who is earning his bachelorโ€™s degree in biological sciences, says long nights on the job and long days in class have prepared him for a future in emergency and trauma medicine. After graduation, he plans to complete his paramedic certification and apply to physician assistant programs, confident that Montana Tech and more than 1,500 hours on the ambulance have set him up for success.
