Firefighters quickly control Butte home fire, no injuries reported

The Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department quickly managed a structure fire on the 3100 block of Kennedy Ave. on Wednesday. Engines 1, 2, and 4 responded to the call. Engine 2 arrived first, reaching the scene in just over 4 minutes. Firefighters saw smoke coming from the rear of a single-story residence. A deck fire had spread to the house, prompting the crew to deploy a 1 3/4-inch handline for extinguishment. Engines 1 and 4 arrived shortly after. Engine 1 conducted a primary search, using forcible entry to access the building. They found no people inside, but two dogs were discovered unharmed. Engines 1 and 4 arrived shortly after. The team controlled the fire within 3 minutes of arrival. Crews then conducted an overhaul to check for any remaining fire extensions. No injuries were reported, and the investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing.
