Multiple fire districts respond to Richland apartment fire

VIDEO: A Richland, Mo., apartment multiplex caught fire early Sunday morning. According to the Tri-County Fire Protection District, multiple districts responded to a fire at Walnut Apartments at the 200 block of South Walnut Street at approximately 4:13 a.m. While en route, a Tri-County firefighter observed visible flames and immediately requested additional manpower and resources, according to the protection district.

Fire officials say all occupants had safely evacuated before units arrived. Once on scene, there was heavy fire throughout the roof and multiple apartments of the single-story, four-unit multiplex. Seven fire departments and one ambulance responded to the scene. Crews controlled the fire by 6:06 a.m., and all units cleared the scene by 7:22 a.m.
