Camdenton house considered total loss after fire, firefighters suffer heat-related injuries

A Camdenton home was destroyed in a residential structure fire Wednesday afternoon. According to the Mid-County Fire Protection District, firefighters were dispatched around 1:41 p.m. to a single story residence in the 200 block of Blair Street. Upon arrival, the house was fully involved in fire.

Firefighters were reportedly able to bring the blaze under control within 15 minutes. The scene was cleared by 3:34 p.m. The residents and their pets were able to get out of the house and did not require any medical assistance, according to the fire district. The home and the contents inside were considered a total loss.

The Fire District said several firefighters had to be treated on the scene for heat-related injuries, but none required hospitalization. The Osage Beach Fire Protection District, Camden Ambulance, Camdenton Police Department and Laclede Electric assisted with the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the MCFPD fire marshal and the Missouri State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office.
