Two people are dead after a house fire in Lawrence County, Mo., on Sunday, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff. The Missouri State Fire Marshalโs Office states the fire happened in the 5200 block of Lawrence 2100, north of Stotts City in Lawrence County. The Lawrence County Coroner said the fire happened around 7 a.m.
Officials say the fire originated in a bedroom. They also say the use of a lightweight extension cord plugged into a portable heater could not be eliminated as a probable cause for the fire. The fire marshalโs office says the fire is listed as accidental. The names of the victims have not been released.
