One person was found deceased after a house fire in Jackson. The incident occurred at a home on Archer Avenue on Tuesday. Division Fire Chief Charles Felton said when firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw smoke coming from the home. Felton said the coroner confirmed the death of an elderly man, and a dog was also found deceased. The victim was identified as Melvin Rockingham, 71. According to Felton, the fire will be classified as accidental electrical.
